Scouting in Sheldon for 90 Years

 Scouts at the 1st Sheldon caters for children of 10 yrs up to 14 years old.

This section gives the children a much wider scouting experience, and our programmes are designed to back that up through everyday adventure.

​

The children are encouraged to develop teamwork skills, in Patrols and  they also undertake some simple leadership responsibilities.

​

The range of activities available to this age group is huge, and includes residential experiences, and other activities to develop independance and life skills

​

Our leaders are very experienced with yong people of this age group and are able to encourage them to challenge themselves in a very positive way.

​

The children undertake a programme of structured badgework based upon effort and personal achievement, culminating in a Chief Scouts Gold award, which is usually attained just before moving to Explorer Scouts.

​

Our aim is to help the children develop as resposible young adults who are ready to enjoy the next stage of their scouting adventure with the Explorer Scouts.
